NAPLES, FL., — September 15, 2022 —David Genson, Barron Collier Companies President of Development, has been unanimously elected as The Florida Transportation Commission (FTC) Vice-Chairman. Genson has served as a Commissioner since 2018, when he was appointed by then Governor Rick Scott. He was later reappointed by Governor Ron DeSantis in 2020.
Genson has been in the engineering and land development field since 1993 and has been with Barron Collier Companies for the past 22 years. His interest in serving on the FTC Board came from being a member of a Leadership Florida class. “Some of my Leadership Florida classmates were involved with FTC, including a former FTC Executive Director,” Genson shared. “Learning about FTC and how I would be able to serve all of Florida is what led to be being on this board. This is my way of serving our state.” Genson also sits on the Collier County Housing Authority since 2013.
“I appreciate Genson’s service to the Florida Transportation Commission. With his extensive knowledge in the engineering and land development field, he has been and will continue to be an asset to the Commission and all citizens of Florida,” said Blake Gable, CEO of Barron Collier Companies.
