Barron Collier Company’s agricultural industries include vegetable farming, packing and marketing, citrus production, land leasing, cattle ranching and mechanical citrus harvesting. Its operations are divided into three divisions: Silver Strand Farms, Silver Strand Groves and the Immokalee Ranch Partnership. BCC’s Silver Strand Division operates from its offices in Immokalee, Florida.

Tomato Packing House
Silver Strand Farms produce tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers and St. Augustine sod. These are grown on more than 5,000 acres in Collier County, Florida. In order to provide quality produce throughout the year, Silver Strand Farms has additional operations in Georgia. BCC also has interests in tomato and vegetable packing houses along with a vegetable brokering business that provides sales for their farming operations as well as other companies.

Silver Strand Groves are located on more than 15,000 acres in Southwest Florida. Totaling in the excess of 1.6 million citrus trees, the groves will produce over 5 million boxes of citrus at maturity. The majority of the citrus crop goes to juice processing and the remainder to the fresh fruit market. Over 40% of the citrus crop is being harvested mechanically with machines from the Coe Collier Partnership.

Silver Strand also leases several thousand acres a year to outside parties for farming and cattle operations.

The Immokalee Ranch Partnership is a cow/calf operation located on more than 70,000 acres primarily in Collier County. The herd, which varies from 6,000 to 8,000 head, are of Brahman mix.
